Every day this week has offered reminders to me that a good, practical, and meaningful way to fight the creeping darkness I feel about the world is to look for ways to use what voice and power I have to lift others up. It doesn't solve everything, but it's a tangible thing we can do together.

While I agree that it wd have been a sign of empathy and respect towards the Jewish communities in Britain to pause the protest on this very day, I also do find these attempts to declare who is British and who isn't increasingly worrying.

It breaks my mind that two British political parties have seen scenes like this and decided to try and replicate it in Britain. Thuggary, lawlessness, state brutality. Farage and Badenoch decided they liked the look of it.

I kinda remember Trump pardoning a bunch of people for this, many of whom beat up cops and put them in the hospital. I think they were yelling something about the Vice President as they stormed the building.

I went to a literature festival event today and was very aware of being the only non-white face in a large tent
