Britain has a long and proud tradition of perpetrating genocide in the Middle East so it's thoroughly un-British to protest about modern day genocide. 🇬🇧

AI town? I am personally disappointed that the govt hasn't committed to tried and tested technology and built Web3/NFT town. With a marketplace where one can freely buy and sell Bored Apes and coffee shops where all transactions are inspectable on the blockchain.

Yeah, this is a re-run of Cameron's renegotiation with the EU ahead of the referendum. 'Signalling' you intend to renegotiate something based on universal principles which is sure to be a dead end won't appeal to the right, it will prove your powerlessness!

(On file in Chambers) TRUMP HAS PARDONS AND TANKS ... WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
Dear Mr. or Ms. Anonymous,
Alone, I have nothing but my
sense of duty.
Together, We the People of the
United States –- you and me --
have our magnificent Constitution.
Here’s how that works out in a
specific case –-
UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
DISTRICT OF MASSACHUSETTS I hope you found this
helpful. Thanks for writing.
It shows you care. You
should.

 Sincerely & respectfully,
Bill Young

P.S. The next time you’re in
Boston [the postmark on the card
is from the Philadelphia area]
stop in at the Courthouse and
watch your fellow citizens, sitting
as jurors, reach out for justice.
It is here, and in courthouses
just like this one, both state and
federal, spread throughout our land
that our Constitution is most vibrantly
alive, for it is well said that “Where a
jury sits, there burns the lamp of
liberty.”

Why the cynicism Ed, their model did a really, really good web search! I bet you some of the names it came up with were actually real people too!
lowwintersun.bsky.social
Wow, was it a surprise that he played? Yeah, I did not know that!

@danamalt.bsky.social thanks for answering the question, makes a lot of sense, keep it tight at the back! 👌
Hopefully things clicking up front will be the icing on the cake.

First they came for the Fabians, and I said: you are aware of who the Fabians are aren't you? And they said:

Yeah, you are totally right, but interestingly the Darlington milestone was first celebrated in 1875, so I guess it's had significance for a while.

Oh wow. There are surprisingly many places that lay claim to being the first rail service of some sort or another! I will add this to the list.
I'm afraid I have a clear Teesside bias on the matter though!

Should we be worried about our ongoing, low xG performance? Surely with the attacking talent we now have we should be doing better?
lowwintersun.bsky.social
Helps me feel less angry about the massive pro-Darlo bias featuring in the 200 year anniversary celebrations of the Darlington-Stockton line (having said that, Stockton really doesn't honour its rail heritage in any meaningful way!).

Trump takes his meds, accidentally watches a few episodes of Portlandia by mistake, gets a bit confused, now the US is not at war with the city of Portland. 😱

Trump says he’s authorized Hegseth to use “Full Force” against Antifa in “War ravaged” Portland
At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Yes, quite! Some difficult choices ahead! Though the direction of technological change favours some eg EVs etc. And grid decarbonisation is an enabler for some too.
lowwintersun.bsky.social
I am not sure how effective it will be. Renewables have widespread support. Unless there's another energy shock (there might be) I wouldn't expect it to be a cross over issue to communicate beyond the hardcore Reform support.

With reference to Milliband: his is one of the few areas of govt going well across a number of measures ie growth, strategic delivery, devolution, wider community empowerment. And he communicates effectively about success. Other depts could learn a lesson or two.
