Madame Pangon, purveyor of Batik fabrics, had premises rue de la Böetie too, but plate 31 shows her temporary showroom at the #ArtDeco Exposition, by Bernard Hanbold with wrought iron by Raymond Subes
René Herbst also had a shop on the bridge, more up-to-the-minute in appearance, visible in plate 32

I think the biggest bang-for-your-buck on basically any video shoot is hiring a professional hair and makeup person. People spend money on all kinds of wacky shit that would be better spent on having someone dedicated to "does the person standing in front of the camera look ok"

A funny thing about the switch to increasingly high production video podcasts is they all invested in bright lights but no make up and everyone on a video podcast is the shiniest person you’ve ever seen. Even the Times’ podcasts!

This is so interesting - thanks for sharing! And congratulations!

This is a fascinating piece about writing biographies. Having just finished writing about the making of my favourite film, made by fave director, starring my fave actor and actress - the challenges posed by this resonate!

Today marks one year since the publication of Rory Gallagher: The Later Years! Here's a conference paper I delivered earlier this year about the writing process behind the book and the decisions made along the way. Enjoy!

Estou do lado do povo brasileiro. As manifestações de hoje demonstram que a população não quer a impunidade, nem a anistia. O Congresso Nacional deve se concentrar em medidas que tragam benefícios para o povo brasileiro.

So hard to take photos when the wind is so fierce but is making my little art deco lover heart happy to be eating dinner in this building tonight.

Think this is going to be one of the more unusual (and extra fun) conferences have been to for a while. Love the view from the bedroom window.
