Chris McCausland: Seeing into the Future review – the comic just can’t hide his emotion in this mind-blowing show
He tries to play the stoic in this look at the incredible changes to disabled peoples’ lives that tech could bring. But the radical benefits of one piece of kit leave him visibly moved

You can go on TV and say the sky was made from recycled carrier bags by retired seamstresses in Portsmouth and if you are from a right wing think tank the news will report it as one side of a contested debate.

If it's true that Labour wants to fight the next election on the basis of "Look, it's us or the far right", as Macron did, then they're going to have to start explicitly denouncing the far right, as Macron does

In 2025, you can watch a genocide live. It’s entirely right the media should report on Israel’s mass murder of Palestinians but “live feeds” sums up the horror: the world watches fellow human beings starve as those with power do nothing.

From the very same paragraph in Orwell's essay: "England has got to be true to herself. She is not being true to herself while the refugees who have sought our shores are penned up in concentration camps, and company directors work out subtle schemes to dodge their Excess Profits Tax."
Peroration from Robert Jenrick’s speech at the Roger Scruton conference today:

“In the words of George Orwell, ‘nothing ever stands still. We must add to our heritage, or lose it. We must grow greater or grow less. We must go forward or backward.’ I say, let’s go forward.”

Disgusting that anyone could respond to these stats by thinking the solution is to strip away the right to appeal to tribunal, rather than holding those responsible accountable for unlawful decision making (or resourcing them well enough to meet need in the first place)
SEND Tribunal *quarterly* data report Jan-March 2025: 24,000 appeals to the SEND Tribunal ⬆️ by 36% compared same period in 2023/24 (Highest ever) Disposals also highest at 19,000 ( ⬆️ 34%)/ Open caseload of 12,000 ( ⬆️ 45%) www.gov.uk/government/statis...

Three separate questions on post-16 provision for students with EHCPs tabled by this MP, including on improving funding for councils and increasing placements for students, got an identical response which doesn't really answer any of the questions.

UK followers. Please sign this petition to lift restrictions to prescribing puberty blockers for trans children.

Last week I learnt Finasteride - the drug Alice was prescribed because her GP refused to administer a puberty blocker - causes suicidal ideation.

The PB ban puts trans youth at risk.
This is huge. My petition got approved. It challenges the UK government to the lift the Puberty Blocker ban on the grounds that it contradicts article 8 of The United Nations Convention On The Rights Of The Child.
