“If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.”

"Don’t tell me that guns aren’t the problem, people are. I’m sick of hearing it. The darkness first takes our children who then kill our children, using the guns that are easier to obtain than aspirin. We sacralize death’s instruments and then are surprised that death uses them."

Cardinal Dolan’s days in New York are numbered after he compared Charlie Kirk to St. Paul over the weekend.

Pope Leo is widely expected to replace him with a pro-immigrant border bishop, Daniel Flores.

Pope Leo stays measured, while Dolan’s likely successor — Bishop Daniel Flores — prepares to bring a very different voice to New York.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered and participated in Carver County DFL's Blue Wave Rising Gala. We are stronger together and together we are rising.

A big THANK YOU to LG Peggy Flanagan and Rep. Angie Craig for joining us! #BolderBetterBrighter #mnleg @mnhousedfl.bsky.social
A full room of energized DFL change-makers at the Blue Wave Rising Dinner Andie was a great MC and auctioneer! Grecia gave a powerful speech on Human Rights. Two "Shine On Gilbert" bracelets were part of the Carver County DFL Gala's silent auction. A photo of Melissa Hortman with her beloved Gilbert was featured prominently.

Thankful to be a part of the DFL team that passed Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) into law last biennium.

ERPOs aka Red Flag Laws work. They prevent suicides, homicides and mass shootings. ERPOs save lives.

How Minnesota law enforcement turns to ‘red flag' law - MinnPost
Use of the year-old statute is on the rise following training. Law enforcement’s broader safety concerns about the law have not come to pass.

I’d like the guy to be caught and it is concerning to me that they appear to have no idea what they’re doing, no solid leads, and are instead making up bullshit based on bullet casings and leaking it to right wing outlets

Watch for these moves in the coming days:

1.) Instant sanctification by the leader
2.) Rituals that migrate into rallies
3.) Attribution-before-evidence
4.) Policy ratchet tied to grief: calls for emergency powers, campus purges
5.) Merchandising the memory,
When Tragedy Becomes Theatre - Don’t Let Them “Horst Wessel” Charlie Kirk
The warning isn’t about equivalence; it’s about a tactic. Authoritarians turn death into myth, grief into mobilization, they are experts at turning funerals into furnaces. Resist the myth-making

The MN Republicans who voted against a 2023 safety bill that included “red-flag” provisions, "which permit the state to temporarily confiscate firearms from individuals deemed to be a threat to others or themselves" need to hear from their constituents now.

It's the guns.

Too many easily accessible guns leading to too many lives changed or ended by gun violence.

Congress needs to reinstate the federal ban on assault weapons and we need laws to end this "pandemic of arms".

Be good to your loved ones & put some kindness back into the world today.

At least 3 students are in critical condition after a shooting at Evergreen HS in Colorado.

This is the 47th shooting that took place at a school in the US so far this year: 24 on college campuses, 23 on K-12 school grounds. This happened less than an hour after Charlie Kirk shooting in Utah.

What Trump dumped on Congress from the Epstein files. Looks like D.C. really did run out of black Sharpies. For context, this is Document 380, a motion in limine filed by Maxwell’s defense team on October 29, 2021, trying to block evidence tied to “Accuser-3” from being heard at trial.

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear— it wastes public money to NOT do it.

Research from New York City notes that newly installed protected bike lanes do more than keep bikers safe--they raise the income of the stores they are in front of.

This week, @thejusticedept took 3 key actions to advance President Trump's immigration agenda.
1. Denaturalized a U.S. citizen who was hiding his past life as a torturer in the Bosnian war
2. Sued the state of Illinois for giving tuition benefits to illegal aliens
3. Sued the city of Boston for its disastrous sanctuary policies
Our attorneys will continue to advance the President's agenda in courts across the country!

We still need a functioning and trustworthy federal health department—for that to happen, RFK Jr. must be fired immediately.

Why didn’t some of the Epstein survivors speak out earlier? “I thought someone was going to kill me,” one explained.

As another asked, “Why did the government work so hard to protect Jeffrey Epstein and not victims like me?”

I strongly believe we should have a special session to ban assault weapons, binary triggers, and high capacity magazines. And we should institute a buy back program for people who have those weapons.

"When you pray, move your feet."

This advice was shared by a member of the clergy at last night's vigil for those impacted by the shootings at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mpls.

Thoughts and prayers need to be accompanied by action.

Sending out a special prayer to St. Jude, the patron saint of hopeless situations & desperate causes.

May we never lose hope that easy access to guns and widespread gun violence will end. May we never lose hope that one day GOP lawmakers will join DFLers in passing significant gun reform.

My heart goes out to all those who are affected by this horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mpls.
