Been playing slowly through Psychonauts 2 and really enjoying it.

There's a place by work that sells a little croissant sausage sandwich and a breakfast burrito. They're each about $7 and just the right size for breakfast. So what I like to do is get both which is too much money and then feel sick afterwards.

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings has a great reload animation. Indy's hat rolls on the floor and then he picks it back up and puts you right back in the level.

some level design thoughts on skyblivion comparison gallery skyblivion.com/gallery-comp... ... too much busy guitar solo-ing (I tend to do it too) but also sad to lose some nice ideas, like the flooded arch entrance, or the genuinely dark feel of the ruins

Finally got around to playing Papers Please. Really brilliant. Incredible how good a job it does of showing how grubby authoritarian states are. @dukope.bsky.social does not miss.

God I love this movie so much.
One of the single greatest fight scenes in history just conceptually.
val kilmer’s turn in TOP SECRET is one of the single best comedy performances ever committed to film, both in terms of comic precision and mechanical virtuosity. just watch this whole clip in its entirety; it’s stunning

Just bought the pack. Good company, fun games, great cause.
We’re already well over $30,000 raised for humanitarian aid in Ukraine and counting. The fundraiser continues through April 2.

Thank you for your contributions!
The people of Ukraine continue to suffer under ongoing Russian aggression.

From March 26 to April 2, we’ll be donating 100% of the proceeds from our games and DLC on all platforms to @peopleinneed.bsky.social to support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

Just got around to watching Past Lives. Beautiful movie. It does an incredible job of adding to the story and characters with set design and background elements.

The Rome stuff is definitely interesting in this article but I've never understood why the Guardian writes so much about the US and US politics. Do they have a big audience here or do the English love to read US news?

Just watched Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. It did a really great job of exploring the push and pull between prisoners and their keepers. One of the major roles in the movie was played by Ryuichi Sakamoto who was an incredible composer and musician.

Everything that’s wrong with society can be traced back to the decline in popularity of point-and-click adventure games. None of this would be happening if there was a AAA King’s Quest game every five years

Really enjoying #Jusant from @dontnod.bsky.social. Using the triggers to mirror the physicality of climbing is really clever. Control schemes in games have become very standardized so seeing a game try and do something new is refreshing.

I recognize this is extremely niche advice but if you're looking to play Escape From Monkey Island on PC you might be better off playing it on PS2 emulator. Even with the EMI Launcher mod I've had trouble getting resolution to look right.

Does anyone know why Escape from Monkey Island feels so different to Grim Fandango? Even though Escape came later, Grim seems more polished to me. Better and sleeker inventory, more consistent art design, more mature writing. Was it a different team or something else?

I wrote a short post about Fable 3 and its clever exploration of the binary morality system that has come to define the series.
