Still searching for that blessed Moment where I feel a deep Harmony with the world and God and time disappears.
When some people in the church hierarchy opt to forget the social spirit of the Bible and set for sycophancy….

The hypocrisy behind the WH message hurts even a rock… but the usccb prefers sycophancy, again, instead of a clear message saying thT nice words (and wrong ones btw) without faith means nothing!

And btw: what was Jesus “during the 9 months” till God became man?

Isn’t this real progress from a social perspective?
Ofc, “God forbid” taxing any super rich guy because he would stop investing
AS IF any of those, for whom money is god & a drug, would stop trying to make more money!

Good thing that when they die, they will take it with th… oh no! Doesn’t happen…
Just 0.001% hold three times the wealth of poorest half of humanity, report finds
Data from World Inequality Report also showed top 10% of income-earners earn more than the other 90%

My song for today / St Thérèse of Lisieux

My life is but an instant, a passing hour.
My life is but a day that escapes and flies away.
O my God! You know that to love you on earth
I only have today!…

If this is not treason to an ideal, to principles, to moral attitudes… then I don’t know what to call it.

When your enemies are happy with your strategy someone should be worried … unless … it’s on purpose to destroy everyone around you

The prayer I needed today

—Proslogion of St Anselm

“Lord, you are my God, and never have I seen you. You have made me and renewed me, you have given me all the good things that I have, and I have not yet met you. I was created to see you, and I have not yet done the thing for which I was made”

This is shameful and disgusting.

It makes me boil - hypocrisy rules the world.

FIFA never announced nominees for the new award and has not said how or by whom the winner was chosen.

Absolutely so!

The sad state of affairs in a country where the a criminal president issued a USA bible (made in China) and promotes supremacy.

Even hypocrisy is ashamed - but, as the saying goes, I think a concept is not responsible for the people who embrace it.

Don’t worry as much about what you do but rather about what you are.
If you are righteous, then what you do will also be righteous. We should not think that holiness is based on what we do but rather on what we are, for it is not our works which sanctify us but we who sanctify our works.

'Sea Mist at the Strand'

A wonderful mornings sunrise when sea mist softened the horizon and the scene turned ethereal.

Taken on New Year’s Eve back in 2019, just months before the world went into lockdown.

"Advent" should have a chapter in "The Screwtape Letters" - time to be happy, to spend money, to get blinded by lights, "all I want for Xmas"... and *that* is exactly the best to distract me from what really matters.
Advent is a hard season: am I ready for when Jesus is coming? do I have real hope?

The person that brought me back through his words, acts, attitude and faith. How can I ever forget him or thank God enough for the gift?

Returning to the purity of the message of Jesus is scary; probably why so many criticised him: fear of the unknown, loss of the "security" of pomp and rituals.
I accompany the ministry of Pope Leo XIV with prayer.
I also continue to thank God for the gift of Pope Francis. 🙏

'Strong Catholic identity' is widely interpreted as meaning 'reactionary' or 'conservative'.
Authentic Catholic education must promote a post-Vatican II understanding of Church, emphasising links between faith & practice (<- Catholic Social Teaching) and preferential care for the poor & vulnerable.

The camellias have been blooming so I've gotten quite a few photos of them in the last month. An unusual angle perhaps, but I just loved how the light was hitting the center of it.

Dec 1 Scripture
Isaiah prophecies that Jerusalem will manifest luster and glory. The fruit of this will be glory and splendor. It called for a cleansing of "filth" and a trustful abandon in God's work. This is the kind of trust that the Roman centurion was able to put in Jesus.

What a beautiful, beautiful image!
I admire Sisters very much - and the radiant happiness coming from their smiles is inspiring.
A lot of the good of the world is as it is because of their work and prayer.

May God always smile on every Sister of this world

Instead of the ray of light which was sent through slanting and winding ways into the heart of your darkness, you will see the light itself in all its purity and brightness.”
