It's the modern version of old talk radio, especially in America. It gets its initial push from wealthy right-wingers, and the power of marketing goes from there.

And disengaging from these grifters would mean having to change a core part of themselves.

And if that sounds sad and pathetic: it is! But for a lot of people - especially men - lacking social skills, and without the desire to improve themselves (because everything is the fault of immigrants/feminism/The Libs), it's their reality.

I've been watching/reading stuff recently trying to understand this, and the best explanation is that being part of this kind of manosphere/right-wing "fandom" is the closest thing to community a lot of people have, and has come to form a core part of their identity.

Had a look at the line-up out of interest and was like "wow, that's underwhelming". Then looked at the ticket prices and almost fell out of my chair.

To be clear, I 100% blame my co-worker who insisted on coming into the office for multiple days despite being incredibly ill herself; and then a few days later, I (and other people in the same office) all get sick.
