At first glance while scrolling I thought that was Andy McCluskey

the most common thickness i use is 0.73 mm, but that would be too heavy for my acoustic guitar and my 12-string imitation rickenbacker, and too feeble for my hollowbody bass with its massive bavarian flatwound strings.

it depends on which guitar i am playing

hehehe i've always loathed Spotify, they are a diarrhea dumpster fire corporation. i've pretty much already heard everything that i might want to hear that Spotify has in their catalog, and I've always filtered my collection of songfiles to get rid of stuff i don't want. :P

I get "Error 404 - Oops, the page you're looking for is no longer here" when I click on the link

It's a waste of time for me to try to put my top 25 in order by preference. And what useful purpose would that serve anyway, really? I won't comment on any or provide links, as virtually no one really follows my account anyway. I'd gladly answer any questions though. OK, I need to get to bed now...

A rough estimate of how much less new music I was exposed to--maybe 75% less... Anyway, it took a lot more time and effort to find out about the good stuff I heard last year, but the quality made up for the lesser quantity. I still haven't decided on my top album of the year...

[2/2] It turns out one of the PCHG admins is a member and she messaged me. I told her all about what my cat was dealing with and she gave me some good suggestions. She also contacted the owner/chief admin of the group and got some advice to pass along to me. I am so grateful and feel a bit better...

I don't really know anything about url loading/embedding on BlueSky. Sharing links to articles etc. is easy enough though.

I'm still old-school in that social networking for me is primarily journaling + groups + events + following friends and pages. I have no interest in short-attention-span trash, what is "trending" online, the dumbing down of stuff to fit character limits. Fuck all algorithms and botslop spammers.
January 3, 2026 at 8:20 PM
I still remember the days of mocking mud hippies in the anti-BM groups on Tribe... fun times...

I'm also on MeWe, I just wish anyone else I knew was on there too, as its been lonely... It's sort of like the anti-FB... privacy-oriented, no selling of your data, no botspam, no algorthim fuckery...

[3/3] (D) then add the rest as individual replies/comments of 300 characters or less, prefaced with [2/x], [3/x] etc.

Short-form limits suck, and are a major contributor to the enshittification of social networking, but there are workarounds for those of us who refuse to be stifled.

[2/3] (C) note how many characters your post is over the limit, then calculate how many posts it would take to fit what you are trying to say, then add [1/X] to the beginning of your post (X = the amount of posts it will take), trim your initial post to make it fit, and post it;
