@irishtimes.com please change the headline of this article. The person that crashed was driving an electric motor bike. The smallest version of this brand can reach 45kph and bigger versions go over 90kph. They are not "e-bikes".
I hope the young girl can make a full recovery.

I am on holiday in Sicily for 2 weeks. Primarily staying in Catania. If ever there was a city ruled by cars then this is the place. It is really sad because you look around and think how amazing it would be if it was more accessible for active travel.

Brenda Power believes cyclists are the biggest threat on Irish roads. Completely ignoring facts.
It baffles me how someone decides to sit down and write something like this and know it to be completely and utterly false.

Day 3 of adventures in cargo biking. We took a day off yesterday. Today we saw the sites of Utrecht. Another great city and we again were blown away by the cycle infrastructure. No battery on today's bike so I had to use my legs. Surprised how easy it was to cart two kids around on a manual bike.

Day 2 of adventures in cargo biking. This time around the streets of Amsterdam. Kids had a ball seeing the city from the front seats. Amazing how quiet the city is compared to other major cities I have been to. Compulsory rehydration in the Foodhallen along the way.

The kids first cargo bike experience through the streets of Naarden. Definitely thumbs up me and them. A little hydration afterwards

In the short time we were on the road, two cars blew their horns at us and one did a close pass even though the road wasn't busy and passing us wouldn't be overly difficult.
There are two things that I've thought after today.

The pictures below show the state the cycle lane was in. Obviously the hedgerow had recently been cut and this is how the area was left afterwards.
My friend and I both decided to cycle on the road as we didn't want to have to change a puncture.

Today I went out for a cycle around my local area in north Dublin. Most of the route we took was on main roads or country lanes. Part of the route had a cycle lane. This cycle lane was only created last year so it is relatively new and stretches for about 2kms along a wide road.
