Handyman living in Ireland. Interests include, sport, music, cycling and ways to improve mobility of the masses without a car
What a day yesterday for Irish football. Just one of the most surreal things I have ever witnessed in all of the years of watching sport.
The commentary on this goal is pure joy and disbelief and sums up what everyone in the country was doing at that moment.

This episode aired on Tuesday and it really shook me. Not only the story of Cians life but the generosity of a community to do something so life changing left me in awe. The build and fundraising are ongoing but he is very close to having his home complete.

Hi hello, does anyone in Ireland near Kilkenny have a bike shop where I can buy a Shimano di2 12 speed battery before tomorrow morning? Or just tomorrow so I can train...

Stuck in just my big ring today in Rás na mBan, not easy when it’s hilly and tomorrow includes an 18% climb 🥲

I moved to Jersey when I was 20 and stayed in a hotel room for about a month when I first got there as it was the only rented room available. Absolutely horrible. No cooking facilities and only a kettle for tea/coffee/pot noodles. Hated going back there after work
fundamentally the problem is that if you think "hotels are where I stay on holiday and I like being on holiday so living in a hotel must be fun and it's not fair others get to do it and not me" then you have the intellectual reasoning of a little child and it's going to be hard to engage with you

I am on holiday in Sicily for 2 weeks. Primarily staying in Catania. If ever there was a city ruled by cars then this is the place. It is really sad because you look around and think how amazing it would be if it was more accessible for active travel.

This just sums up the American right and all the propagandists who prop up this administration. Ignore the facts and change the subject.
Bartiromo: "We are waiting any moment now to get the jobs number for the month of June. The expectations call for the numbers to be up 95,000. Right now seeing the number -- actually, uh, showing a decline in jobs, uh, down 33,000, uh."

Brenda Power believes cyclists are the biggest threat on Irish roads. Completely ignoring facts.
It baffles me how someone decides to sit down and write something like this and know it to be completely and utterly false.

This just shows how people can't see anything beyond cars. This TD should be actively trying to help his constituency by improving public transport rather trying to harm them by allowing unqualified people drive 2 tonne machines to college
Fianna Fáil TD says learner drivers should be allowed drive a car unaccompanied
Since 2018, it has been an offence for an unlicensed person to drive a vehicle unaccompanied.

Sharing for no reason other than it's one of my favourite songs of all time and it's always a good time to share Rory Gallagher. Always reminds me of my time in Sydney when I really got in to his music and played this song constantly

Day 3 of adventures in cargo biking. We took a day off yesterday. Today we saw the sites of Utrecht. Another great city and we again were blown away by the cycle infrastructure. No battery on today's bike so I had to use my legs. Surprised how easy it was to cart two kids around on a manual bike.

Day 2 of adventures in cargo biking. This time around the streets of Amsterdam. Kids had a ball seeing the city from the front seats. Amazing how quiet the city is compared to other major cities I have been to. Compulsory rehydration in the Foodhallen along the way.

Mind-blowing that this is still happening. There is a reason/s why politicians continue to let this happen. Dublin looks, and has done for a long time, grubby. This is not only the case in Dublin city. Towns and villages all over the country have huge dereliction problems.

Today I went out for a cycle around my local area in north Dublin. Most of the route we took was on main roads or country lanes. Part of the route had a cycle lane. This cycle lane was only created last year so it is relatively new and stretches for about 2kms along a wide road.
