📣 Emergency Alert: The People’s Movement is calling for rapid response protests in your local town or city tomorrow, targeting city halls and ICE facilities to demand that your local and state representatives stand up against this Bill and prevent the American Gestapo from attacking your community.

Popping in for a minute to say that it really sucks that the murder bill passed Congress and ALSO to thank every single person who tried to stop the bill from passing. What you did matters. Finally, I wrote a few words: open.substack.com/pub/prisoncu... - I hope they might offer some encouragement.
People are in motion, everywhere.
Some thoughts on discouragement and also on noticing…

NEW: The new reality for migrants showing up to routine hearings:

Masked ICE agents, hallway arrests, families separated.

The 10th floor @ 26 Federal Plaza in NYC has grown so crowded, that 100s have slept on floor + bathrooms, one detainee told us.

Important reminder. ICE often tries to serve "administrative" warrants. If you are a business, homeowner, or even renter, these warrants are MEANINGLESS.

Only a Judicial, aka "Bench" warrant, signed by a judge, gives legal authority to enter your space without your consent.

DO. NOT. COMPLY.

Pope Francis telephoned a church in Gaza nearly every night since October 2023. But the New York Times didn’t include that fact in its obituary.

“It's hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of my help.
If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I'm a hypocrite."

Last night was the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops.

I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.

Remind you of anyone?

We have to save us.

And I am weary of waiting for my colleagues to join the fight. Any fight. I chose book bans, but you don't have to
