In 1893, Bram Stoker hiked up to Slains Castle in Aberdeenshire - it became a partial inspiration for Castle Dracula. Today I was thrilled to be able to see hike up there too and see the ruined castle in all its Gothic glory. Thanks @romgothsam.bsky.social for such a fun day!!

If you can only imagine Heathcliff as sexy if he's white, if you don't question move to a white actor in your creation of your fantasy version of Wuthering Heights, if you think 'he's sexy' is an excuse for whitewashing and not a red flag... you're ignoring some pretty obvious problems. 4/

Reading an article this morning on the Elordi casting where Fennell defends the Elordi casting on questions of age and race as 'he looked like the Heathcliff ilustration'in her teenage copy. Her response to the book, she says, was 'primal, sexual' 1/

Hey folks,

I'm making my book group read 'Venoni' by Matthew Lewis and I wondered if any of my Gothic and Romanticism friends would be interested in doing a live reading/dramatic performance. The more drama, the better!

Give me a shout if you could be into it!
