Not always paying attention to what is going on. Unless wood is involved.
Very neat. I also built floating shelves but they weren’t thick enough to cut keyhole inserts at the back so the screws have to go through and remain visible. Here I hide them with decorative items.

Your approach makes me think I’ll try to find a keyhole solution next time.

Good morning fellow wood people (especially of a US persuasion). My friend, who recently moved back from VA, brought back this rocker with him. The design, from S Bent & Bros, is exquisite. I particularly like the armrests.

Does anyone know anything about this manufacturer & style?

It’s a great chair and stool. Cool orange wool cushion too.

Because we talk about chairs and stools here are mine. Since the pics were taken the stool has gained a matching thick cushion.

I’ve oiled up the console using Rubio (‘pure’) oil after some sanding, watering and mineral spirits cleaning (and more sanding). Thanks to @yaug.bsky.social for the application advice. The result is lovely. Very happy with the look and feel.

I was today’s old when I discovered what these different sizes bearings were for.

On a related note, this reveal beneath the console’s top really brings it all together.

Console progress. Almost there.

I need to take the top off (oo-er missus) again and 1 machine plane it to remove a couple of post glue up uneven bits and 2 rout out a little inset at the edge of the underside, to “ease” the joint with the frame. Part of the piece’s design language.

Console progress.

I’ve fitted the drawers. I’m very pleased with the pale ash wood / purple felt contrast.

The legs are also done; I now need to first fix the top, then rout the profiles all along and then sanding / finishing the whole lot. It’s been slow going.
