So today I started on the work for my new walnut desk.

Not to make this about myself but I’ve been thinking about this sort of thing for a while. My two cats are respectively 16 and 14 and both in great health but when they go they go 😿.
When my mum’s beloved cat died my FiL (a wood sculptor) built a pretty box too.

Bit of an emotional project in the shop this week. We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved cat Lucy, who you may have seen in photos of my work. I made her a small cherry box for the final part of her journey. #woodworking

I have some serious woodshop envy. Lovely big space.
Mine is 13' x 8'. can't swing a cat. All tools on wheels, so that I can use. No chance of a woodstove as no space. Currently 30F 😢

Youtube connaissant mes goûts me suggère un blues dans America Got Talent, et ça me parle bien. vu que c'est un short, je regarde et je cherche.. et je tombe sur plusieurs vidéos du même mec dans la même émission, mais toutes différentes. 1/3

It’s sloooow going. Today has seen progress though, and a final dry fit for the chest of drawers. Wirh drawers in place.
There is some pattern routing left, fine tuning of drawer positions and naturally sanding and finishing before completion. But the end is in sight!
Gluing next.

What I did enjoy, though, was making the finger pull profile on the drawers’ walnut fronts.
It required a couple of jigs - one of them rather convoluted - to route the required shapes.
