In SR3, the second mission cutscene has a character say "We want 70% of your company's gross revenue." And then another character says "That is before taxes."

Gross revenue *is* revenue before taxes. They literally just said "We want a cut of your revenue before taxes before taxes."

My favorite homophobic complaint in Dark Science was, after years of gay subplots, heroic left wing terrorists and canonically trans characters, when Kim finally confessed to Ling, a guy commented "wow so even *you're* trying to score woke points now"

Also, Santo Ileso is the most charismatic and interesting game world I've seen in years. It's an absolute delight to just ride around and see what new thing you find around the street corner.

Not to mention that there's nothing wrong with the dialogue in the Reboot.

If you think the writing is cringe, you're focusing too much on the words and not the character chemistry and interactions. The game is fundamentally about the friendship the main characters have and the writing sells that.

It might be a bit dated in terms of gameplay design, but I take offense to anyone saying that it's just a bunch of turret missions and bad writing "unlike" the previous games in the series.

Replay SR3 sometime, because that game has like 5 turret missions in a row from the moment you start it up.

I've usually summed it up as "It's actually pretty good, people are just mean."

The Reboot is so much more sincere and sweet than you'd ever expect an open world crime sim like GTA or Saints Row to be and I love that about it. It's basically "what if GTA was about friendship?"

It's awesome.
