#amwriting about my plans for 2026 (resolutions, goals, intentions, call 'em whatever you want)

The Next 12 Months
This year, instead of making resolutions or setting goals, I’ve picked a word for each month, and that word will be my intention or focus for the month. In an ideal world, they’ll all stack on each…

Since @jamesmcgarvey3.bsky.social & I are celebrating 15 years married today - it seems fitting to share the three times we met:

Third Time’s the Charm
When people ask how my husband and I met, I always ask, “Which time?” While our story isn’t exactly When Harry Met Sally, I love sharing how we went from acquaintances to friends to partners over t…

The DNC really needs to hire a digital marketing expert who knows how to use SMS marketing effectively.

#amwriting about my favorite words, because I love them.

h/t @merriam-webster.com for the definitions

Did you know their newest edition is out now?

Not an ad. I just love dictionaries. They're way more fun than doomscrolling.

26 of My Favorite Words
It should come as no surprise that I love words. The way they look, the way they sound, the way they’re built from seemingly random strings of letters but somehow mean approximately the same thing …

Today I learned it's called "masking tape" because it literally acts as a MASK for whatever it's covering.

I can't decide if I love this or if I'm disappointed that I only just figured it out.

I mean, two things can be true, but still.

Umm, where's the option for "all of the above"?

Nobody:
Me: "So High School" is the Polonius of "The Tortured Poets Department."
Nobody: *crickets*
Me: *laughs histerically*

Listen. I know the world is on fire, but since creation is the whole point of existence, I really need someone to make a full mashup of George Michael's Father Figure with Taylor Swift's Father Figure. TS went so subtle with her interpolation (and it's perfect), but I want it turned up to eleven.

That's my husband, y'all. And that's why I married him. Even in the worst timeline, he makes me laugh out loud (literally, there was squealing) with hilarious, pointed jokes about the bullshit being propagandized around us. (+2 points for humor about grammar.)
These fucking idiots, I swear, they're gonna kill us all.

I'm sorry, the stupid as fuck shes and hes are going to kill us all. "They" is woke propaganda.

I wasn't in the market for a new dictionary (I already have four, I think). But this marketing is just too good.
We are thrilled to announce that our NEW Large Language Model will be released on 11.18.25.

Listen. Buying books and reading books are two totally different hobbies. I happen to enjoy (and be really good at) both. It's feature, not a bug.

Every time I'm like "Okay, just gonna read the books I already have. No more new books." Someone announces a new book that I HAVE to read.
What the world saw on the campaign trail was only part of the story.

My new book is a behind-the-scenes look at my experience leading the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.

107 Days is out on September 23. I can't wait for you to read it: kamalaharris.link/107DaysBook

Waves at the beach in Ventura today - the literal ripple effect of yesterday's earthquake in Russia. (Our waves aren't usually this close together or this fast.)

Just 44 pages into Amanda Nguyễn's "Saving Five," I'm already blown away.

The writing is compelling on its own, but the structure is something I've never seen in memoir.

It's a mix of standard narrative memoir, the fantasy world of memory recall, and the (arbitrary) structure of time. Genius.

Why on earth does the elementary school book fair have a guide to TikTok? These kids are all under 13, and they shouldn't be anywhere near social media of any kind. Ugh
