I've been working on this video for most of the year & it's on some pretty timely & sensitive topics so, if I may be so bold, I would ask that you share the hell out of it ❤️

Fascism succeeds when we debate the worth of others

When we decide that it’s “ok” if certain people suffer

That they “deserve” it

Abandoning red states because they voted for Trump is playing into the hands of fascists

Not to mention all the children who have no say, no agency & need protection
I need y’all to see the disconnect between your very real concern about gerrymandering and all the forms of voter suppression and your ire against southern and red states and your belief that all those people get what they deserve.

You don’t actually care about the first if you believe the second.

Yup. They'll send a legitimately awful US citizen to CECOT, and anyone who criticizes it will be accused of supporting the awful person... and then they'll send someone slightly less awful. Eventually, they'll have established that they can send anyone.
The next step for Trump is to send a US citizen convicted of something like child murder and rape to CECOT in El Salvador. It'll set the precedent to send citizens there while neutralizing outrage over it because of the heinous nature of their crimes. Then it'll any felony and then protestors.

There are useful things AI can do, but the monetary investment and promotion of it is disproportionate to the public demand and utility.

The reason is, AI promises rich people one day they won't have to pay for the talent and expertise of others. If it's not your job today, it will be before long

This morning I'm thinking about how the X-Men are always the underdogs, and how they always keep fighting anyway because underdogs don't have any other choice, and how they manage to make that a beautiful thing.

Today I played some magic with the pony deck I made for my wife. Shout out to rule zero and my flying horse named Socrates.

As UXM grew ever darker and deeper, Kurt Wagner stood out as a rare joyous character in an often bleak series, someone who relished the role of showman, and though Claremont at times punished him for this, he also found spaces to let Kurt thrive. 1/8 #xmen @goshgollywow.bsky.social

as a first-gen American, it's been really scary and depressing to see the whiplash from the Trump years when liberals had very strong, positive messaging for immigrants to today where supposed "allies" argue violating international law is a "necessary evil" and whip out polls to say it's all okay.
First I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I saw this Kristof column; next I got mad; finally, I took comfort in remembering the utter distain he faced here when he tried to run for governor.

"We do not live in a system governed by people prepared to plant a tree in whose shade they will never sit.
We live in a system governed by people who inherited a shady grove built by labor, fired the gardeners, and comodified the shade which they believe is generated ex-nihilo by market forces"

Police characterizing the faculty as "aggressive" in their non-movement with their hands restrained really feels like a whole lot of a tell about how police do their usual brutality too.
Lol to nobody’s surprise, the police really don’t know shit about the bond and duty of care faculty feel for their students. This is what protect and serve actually looks like.

It's wild that the best nightcrawler adaptation outside comics is going to be an afterthought after that episode.

There are two kinds of people:

Those who always oversimplify things,

And those who sometimes oversimplify things.
