WE HAVE MOUNTAINS OF ICE TO MELT
And Minneapolis' Phillips neighborhood is named for Wendell Phillips, a fervent abolitionist. He was once asked why he couldn't turn down the heat in his rhetoric: why are do you always have to be so firery? Phillips' reply: "Yes, I'm on fire--becuase I have mountains of ice to melt!"

Having a "Dead Dove; Don't Eat" moment with this new XG album. Might be the last project I check out from them for the foreseeable future, which is a shame since all my problems with their music come to down to aesthetics for the most part. They're talented but ugh I wish they wouldn't sing in ENG.

Thinking again about Peggy Jo Tallas, the cross-dressing bank robber who got away with it five times, retired, and then went for one more ride and ended up getting shot by the cops, and the incredible article about her www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=91...
The Last Ride of Cowboy Bob
The feds knew him as a prolific bank robber. But the bearded man who eluded them for so long was not who they imagined him to be. And absolutely no one expected the story to end the way it did.

Uploaded a while back but a really great 1981 Fall curio has surfaced, namely a much visually better clip of "Totally Wired" from _A Part Of America Therein_ and the _Perverted By Language Bis_ VHS and subsequent reissues. I'll put the description of how this was found/prepared in a second post.
