It’s mainly that Wall-E himself doesn’t move me. His cloying cuteness is irritating. I’m glad my three-year-old likes it though.

Anyway, very very good movie, one of the best of the 90’s. The more I watch it the more I’m convinced it’s even deeper and has more going on than I ever thought before. It’s on Criterion right now and really worth your time if you haven’t seen it

We watched Velvet Goldmine tonight, my husband’s first time and my tenth or something, and I had never before noticed that the “present day” in that movie is a sort of fictional 1984 semi-fascist thing lol. It’s subtle but it’s there
