Now that folks seem to be emigrating for real to this LinkedIn version of Twitter, like a proper chronic online academic I want to do a ✨Thread🧵✨ about my work, so here is an example of a certified Hot Take on Marx based on my research:

Marx never had have a 'theory' of alienation 🥵

1/ I'm excited to share that Franz Knappik’s and my Cambridge Element on Hegel and Colonialism is finally out – open access below! We trace how Hegel defends European colonial rule, including transatlantic slavery, and how that defence runs through his entire philosophical system.

Me and a bunch of brilliant colleagues got an op-ed responding to the recent political attacks on Roskilde University in the Danish newspaper Politiken today.

Really looking forward to… skimming select chapters if we’re being realistic 😅

I have to say I'm pressed to think of a single revolt in history where anyone had laid out an alternative order in advance. Maybe 1917 is the closest thing, but even that was chaotic and made up as they went along.

The only positive thing about Tony Blair potentially becoming viceroy of Gaza is that it significantly increases the chances that he’ll be shot.

Really looking forward to joining comrades at the 10th Danish Marxism conference! I’ll be presenting a paper making a historical critique of the cooperative form and arguing that if Danish agriculture is to move toward a sustainable future, its current cooperative structure must be dismantled.

This is despite consistent obfuscation, banalization and both-sidesism by German media and politicians.

But it's no surprise - a very large part of the population has long been indifferent or hostile to the political, cultural and media elite's unconditional support for Israel.

Does anyone know where to find reliable comparative crime statistics for different national contexts since the 1970s? I mean big picture kind of things, nothing too deep and complicated

Are you dying to know if Hegel hated ersatz coffee? Then boy do I have the piece for you. Very happy to be part of the JHI blog forum on political economy in intellectual history!

As part of the JHI Blog forum on political economy, Marie Louise Krogh examines Hegel's rare reflections on the 19th century international coffee industry as an entry point into the theoretical stakes of political economy in the midst of European imperialism.
