No arrests were made at the time, but in the following two months, seven trans people say police contacted them to charge them with disorderly conduct and "interference with official acts" over allegations they had illegally blocked traffic. Tara McGovern, one of the seven people charged, has requested a jury trial, which is expected to begin in March. From Bogota SHARP: "On Thursday, January 18, at the Bogotá, Colombia concert of the 80s Punk band from Spain, Los Ilegales, there were some fucking bonehead Nazis at the event. As soon as they saw us, they attacked because it was 6 of them, and 4 of us. One of them took out a knife, and we obviously defended ourselves. They lost the scuffle and were laid out on the floor when the police came, so we left. The next day, the police came to our homes and took us into custody. They’re pressing charges against us, and thus we had to hire legal representation which is difficult for us to pay due to the harsh economic situation in Colombia. However, if we’re not properly represented for these charges, we could face 3-5 years in prison. The first payment for our attorney for the four of us is due on February 1st for 10 million Colombian pesos which is approximately $2,500 US. Any international solidarity will be appreciated, and never forgotten. Oi! Oi! Oi!
