I cannot understand people who are frightened of unhoused people. I interact with unhoused people every time i go out in Chicago. They're mostly friendly and cool! They have problems i don't have but that doesn't make them scary or dangerous! Just share the sidewalk, you fascist baby!!!

you can refer them to merriam-webster’s page on singular they usage, which both takes the pressure off you to explain it and lends legitimacy for a person to whom it may be unfamiliar? i’ve done this when i used they in the past, and also have sent pages on the subject from other style guides

yeah like there are situations in which it sucks less - i actually love wearing them for customer service and it’s totally not something i even think about like, on the bus - but in many, many situations, especially social ones, it does have a cost! like bro i think it depends!

it would be nice to participate in my hobby that requires being in large groups and sweating a lot without needing to wear something on my face that makes it impossible to see my facial expression and means i have to shout to be heard and makes me break out in order to avoid debilitating illness
