Happy first day of #Autumn! 🍁🍂

RIP Optimus Princeps, who died #OnThisDay in AD 117 at Selinus in Cilicia. ⚱️

Trajan’s body was cremated, and his ashes were deposited inside a golden urn in the pedestal of his column in Rome. The official ceremony of deification took place soon after Hadrian arrived in Rome in July AD 118.
