As if carbon offsets weren’t a big enough fraud…welcome to the world of ‘biodiversity offsets’…sure the idea failed dismally in NSW but Murray Watt is keen to have a crack…

what could go wrong?

Just even more extinctions i suppose…#climate #nature

How many extra possums does it take to compensate for a dead platypus?
That’s the kind of calculation a bureaucrat would literally have to make under Environment Minister Murray Watt’s new ‘environmental laws’.

I don't understand this thinking.

Like we don't already have brilliant academics in Australia who are unable to find a job because our government woefully underfunds universities.

Like US academics are just so ~inherently brilliant~ instead of coming from well-funded institutions.

So frustrating.
Open the doors and put out the Welcome Mat!

Increasing numbers of scientists are eyeing opportunities in Australia, Canada, China and Europe amid threatened cuts to funding.

A brain drain hitting US universities is gathering pace as funding cuts and attacks on academic freedom have many academics leaving.
