It cost as much to buy my wedding tuxedo as to rent it twice, so I went for it. Great choice! Having a tuxedo on hand just in case has paid off in spades over the years.
One day something will happen — a wedding, a graduation, a job promotion, Jake Paul getting knocked out, Andrew Tate getting knocked out the next day — and you’ll want the right outfit to celebrate. Buy that special outfit now, so you’re ready when that next unexpected moment arrives.

Storefront protestant church is almost done building their new building in town. And it is the most strip mall ass looking piece of shit for a church I’ve ever seen built intentionally.

I’m a grown adult with an income. The grocery near me sells gardetto’s in bulk. No one can stop me from eating rye crisps all afternoon long.

I was working a polling place in Fairbanks in November 2020 and a guy walked in from the distant hills and asked if this was where he could vote against Nancy Pelosi.
What happens when you distill 2025 into a single social media post?

This.

This is what you get.

I like it when my daily internet puzzles do holiday themed puzzles.

Before today’s game starts and no matter what happens, I want the Mariners to know that I’ll still love them.

High as hell, 9am in the computer lab bashing out a paper on age discrimination before a 10:00 sociology class. Aced it.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.

Listening to 12 year olds try to navigate multifactor authentication to become friends on Minecraft over the phone.
They’re hating it. Bring on the next generation

This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen
Japan has a wrestling camp for kids where at the end they have a show match in front of their parents to show off what they learned.

Thought you'd enjoy this.

I like living at the end of the time zones because you can find the bottom of the internet after everyone else quits posting.

I’m reminded today, for no particular reason, of “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”

For the record, I’m enjoying the extra innings. Thanks, Seattle Mariners.

On Saturday, August 16, hundreds of Latinx punks gathered at MacArthur Park for an evening of anti-authoritarian cumbia and hardcore ska punk as one of the venue’s 10 free summer concerts.

The Hunt For Red October is tight. Things brought up in the establishing scenes come back meaningfully later and in a natural, unforced way. It evolves smoothly and every word matters.
in your opinion, completely subjective, no metrics and no judgment, what are the best written movies of all time? I don't care if you have never seen a screenplay in your life, just which story itself is the most moving and complete and perfect to you?

Rewatching the ultra cool 1967 film Le Samourai with Alain Delon and can’t get over the fact that his character’s name is Jef.

My dad busted his ass to get a college degree so he could put down the hammer and sit behind a desk. So did I. People who have actually done manual labor for a living don’t romanticize it.
regardless of how unworkable it is (and it's quite unworkable), the Trump 2.0 push to move America away from laptop jobs and back towards manual labor is a huge step backwards in overall quality of life

certainly some people prefer non-laptop jobs but on average they are much nicer
more americans should have the opportunity to work laptop jobs, imo

I ordered a record six weeks ago and watching the USPS tracker has been an adventure. I hope it’s all stickered up like a cartoon steamer trunk.
