How fantastic to have Tree Sparrows in the garden. For the 1st time since I have lived in Marbury (7 yrs) I haven't seen one on patch this year so far.

I oscillate between thinking like you then changing my mind! I might know better when they start nesting, as the female will stay on the nest and only the male will come. That relies on my recognising them by how they act being correct too! I may never know!

Thanks Barney! How lovely to have seen yours for so long. I probably will never know, but I always though Chips was the male as he/she was still around in the nesting period but of course I know them on behaviour and I may always be mistaken on that too!
