I think I would have preferred that compared to my lightbox experience last year, but yeh I never hear about it until afterwards.
I went to ctn once in it's heyday and it was a great experience 🤷 despite the issues that became a controversy at the time

New developments in rigging tend towards more automation, reusing, corner cutting, and so on, so it's hard to get excited about it, it just makes the animators jobs more boring and makes our quotas go up. The workflows that we used in [jesus movie] could have been done in an old 2015 version of TB

I still do rig anim for a living most of the time, and I'm using it in my film in different ways, but I feel very aware of it's limits

looking at complicated 2d rig anim like this, the end result is kind of disappointing to look at imo, feels a little clunky and lacking in gesture to me youtu.be/ZC78PtR03dk?...
We didn't have extensive master controllers like this, but I don't usually like using those anyway

I don't think there are many CEOs out there who would not get suckered in by ai. but I think nintendo's approach, just saying that they will not use it, is a way smarter move, considering that both companies try to have a similar brand- "our products cost more because they're higher quality"

I am no CEO, but I'm not sure it's worthwhile to toss 100 years of extremely expensive productions into the grinder, just to generate slop that noone will watch

yeah I do it like that too, basically I refine em by erasing them down and going over them multiple times. and to be fair, you can't really do the Glen Keane/Vilppu kind of stroke digitally
