One of the clearest patterns of Bluesky's moderation policies, if you can even call them that, is that whatever is considered to be against the TOS is enforced exponentially harsher the more visible/popular an account is.

And this could mean, at least, one of two things, neither of which are good:
Do people even understand how bad of a take they have when even I notice it?

I said this in jest but after giving it a think for a few minutes, it's impressive how many of Bluesky's problems stem from their inability, or refusal, to address verifiable threats to their users.

The only times we got a bit safer was when the community banded together and shamed the threats away
It turns out, in fact, that we all misunderstood what "Trust & Safety" is, much like we did "Double Jeopardy".

Bluesky wants users to *Trust* them so they can protect Pedophile's, Creep's and Fed's *Safety*.

I think we can now all admit to being wrong. Aaron is doing an excellent job.

All I can think is this what you teach the kids? That when cruel people bully you give in for an easy life? That cruelty and threats are what get your way and its wise to surrender to bigotry?

"Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider" is the best anime this season and it's not remotely close.

My favorite Christmas Movies are Flash Gordon and Who Frame Roger Rabbit. Not because either one is a Christmas movie per se but because it's what my local tv station would play every single Christmas evening every year until I was a teenager. Wouldn't be shocked if they still did that today.

Looks "Out of Stock" stopped me from impulse buying a watch, which can only be a good thing.

If you claim to be an ardent defender of some marginalized group of people and viciously attack other marginalized people, or those that defend other groups of marginalized individuals, because they don't fully subscribe to your ideology you are one dumb mother fucker.

I realize that wanting basic human rights for people is too high of a bar for today's political landscape so I'm adjusting it to a more realistic level:

I just want a government administration whose sex life I know absolutely nothing about.

I just miss having a government in the news that's not involved in a sex scandal every single fucking day occupying valuable air time that could be better used to tell people that the world is on fire.

At some point in the future someone will do a study on how The Simpsons was not a comedy cartoon but rather a device for prophetic revelations about America's future, telling the tale to come decades in advance.
The Shamwow Guy just announced that he is running for Texas’ 31st Congressional District.

Has Patriotism ever done anything good for anyone except for those who'd misuse others' faith for their own personal benefit?

After I stopped using reddit as much, because I was tired of all the circle-jerking, and turned my attention towards more important matters that affected the real world, I somehow expected less circle-jerking, not more of it.

95% of slice of life anime is uninspired and/or repetitive trash that's been done dozens of times before by better anime before it, but when it's good, when it's made with heart, it's really fucking good.

Before you jump at me, Honey and Clover is one of my favorite anime of all time.

Peace!

"it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed"

This.

This right here.

I'm so, SO tired of having to scrutinize any piece of art that even remotely resembles genAI slop just to determine whether or not it's worth a second thought or any admiration.
Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

I'm not a professional blogger (anymore) or Journalist in any capacity, but if I was running a paid news website and wanted to announce a sale for a subscription I probably wouldn't put that specific article behind a pay wall.
