A problem with memorialising communist tyranny is that is difficult to memorialise certain things. For example the Czechoslovak secret police StB specialised in "denial of social life". If you were targetted by the regime, a police officer would visibly follow you around, EVERYWHERE.

It's weird how many Western far-right and far-left people like to passive-aggressively post at Ukrainians "Have you considered making peace with the Russians" while I have seen non of them do that to Russians. Do Russians have some magical moral license to start wars?

There was a Czechoslovak anti-communist dissident who pointed out in the 1960s that a core part of communist tyranny is a sort of tyranny of time. Everyone is supposed to permanently have their past missteps tied around their necks, except the communists whose pasts are to be continuously forgotten.

Still not a fan of welcoming former communists into liberal spaces.

Czechoslovakia and Hungary were liberal democracies after WW2. Czechoslovak democracy was ended through a coup by Czech and Slovak communists in 1948, Hungarian democracy through a coup by Hungarian communists in 1949. You would know, I hired you to draw art for the upcoming Hungary videos.
