I’m so sorry Celine. Try not to let it get you down - I know how hard that is, but your work is fantastic. Fossils who don’t get it and have such fragile egos that they humiliate junior scholars in public are a very sad phenomenon. Makes you wonder if they ever had a truly innovative thought.

Whoa! Thanks for the tip. For other folks wanting to do this, here are screenshots of what I just did. Start by going to you "Account Settings." Then follow the screenshots below. And yes, when given the option "Are you sure you want to proceed?," you better believe I hit that sucker!

In archives: pencil and notebook, laptop, phone with good camera that automatically synchronises to cloud storage, charger, card magnifying glass. In museum storage rooms: card magnifying glass, digital camera + tripod. And a jacket or scarf, because these places tend to be COLD.

For desk work: Leuchtturm numbered, lined notebook & fountain pen for scribbling notes and ideas. Zotero to keep track of my references and sources, including photographed archival material. Scrivener for book projects, Word for smaller pieces, Excel for basic data sets, Baserow for data collab.

A federal judge just ruled that the NIH must restore research grants cut under the banner of “gender ideology” and anti-DEI backlash.

The judge—a Reagan appointee—was scathing, calling the cuts “palpable” racial and LGBTQ+ discrimination.

Judge orders Trump admin. to restore hundreds of terminated NIH grants
