This is the second time I have photographed one of my favorite Mycena species - this one is found on leaves and has regular water droplets along the stem for a reason which remains a mystery to me.

From the Chocó Andino region of Ecuador.

If you're struggling to get your head around that, it's called capitalism.

A twist in the otherwise straight stem of a Scots pine in Glengarriff likely indicates where, one year, the central growth candle was damaged, and one of the lateral shoots took over.

Scotland’s landscapes are shaped by deer – and no one knows it better than stalkers. They see how deer bring life and when balance is lost. Empowering stalkers to restore that balance is key to tackling Scotland’s climate and nature crises.

A very old oak in Dereen Garden, Kerry. When it started life, the area likely still belonged to the O'Sullivan Beares, before English colonialists took it by force in the mid-17th century and cleared the rainforest.

Just like Palestine now, land theft, racist genocide, & ecocide went hand in hand.

Some of the rare lesser horseshoe bats in the shed. I counted 71, but there are likely around 100.

They do a fantastic job of hoovering up local midges: 3,000 each per night x 6 months = 50 million+ a year!!!!!

And I adore seeing their flitted flight at dusk, silhouetted against the open Atlantic.
