Pacific NW via every continental US time zone. Working Families Party stan. Women's soccer, genre and queer romance, cephalopods, trains! Forever a librarian in my heart.
It totally is! The heart of the Confederacy is the heart of MAGA. I truly believe their primary goal is to restore the Jim Crow era bargain of Southern autonomy for national peace. If they can expand their reach, bonus. If they can weaken the North and West, extra bonus.

I think they know it exists, but they don’t want “the left” mobilized, and their ideal base is so small, there’s no point in mobilizing it.

"The Republican party is an outright enemy of democratic interests around the world" is an objectively true statement and something that I don't know if the current crop of Dem pols are gonna be able to fully embrace

What is unclear to me is… why a trial? Why not have him “killed resisting arrest,” or sent to CECOT, or something else more manly and immediately satisfying? Every trial they have attempted thus far has failed— what itch are they trying to scratch?

Tl;dr not none of the stakeholders are that invested in electoral politics. They’ll exploit it while they have it, then move on.
