I immediately close any webpage that doesnt have a simple way to deny all. That one where you have to toggle through a long list of cookie permissions? I no longer read those websites at all. How can there possibly be “67 legitimate vendors” for each type of adtech use case?!

Migrant healthcare workers in UK and Europe often put their own health at risk to provide support throughout the initial COVID waves pre-vaccines. In EU, we aren’t even respectful enough to count race/ethnicity in health pop data so can’t even see the contribution properly without one-off studies

Highly recommend this. When we talk about digital sovereignty and EuroStack it needs to be more than just swapping out US bigtech for potential EU founders with the same growth mindset and instead lead to open digital ecosystems that support everyone to participate, including workers

Promising start to a new relationship between EU & big tech. Consumers and businesses would definitely be worse off if big tech platforms get in on financial data. Banks have dragged their feet on creating open banking/finance ecosystems but it is happening and regulation and standards have helped.

This is what infuriates me about the competitiveness agenda: we are measuring competitiveness against a country where there is vast inequality between ceo and workforce pays, no universal healthcare, rising authoritarianism, lack of regulations for food safety, worsening child mortality and so on.

I wrote how eurostack advocacy efforts should take a decolonisation approach and one of the strategies i proposed was to form alliances to support former european colonies to avoid bigtech neocolonialism like what is happening in Indonesia (platformable.beehiiv.com/p/the-eurost...)
