So, one of my classmates took it upon herself to call me "Underwear" because my last name is "Hainds" where the "d" is almost silent, and you have the other major brand of the era.

So I've worn Fruit of the Loom briefs for, well, forever. TMI? Bear with me. In the '90s and into the aughts, they had FTL on the elastic waistband, not the full company name. I always thought that was awesome. I mean, who wouldn't want underpants that can go faster than light?

After more than a year without back issues, mine slipped out yesterday, and I hope to schedule my chiropractor early this week.

Just listened to an interview with The New York Times' Sheryl Gay Stolberg. Someone who attended prep school with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recalled watching him place metal cutlery under the dining hall table and holding a lighter to them. This was so the boy clearing the table would burn his hands.

Meanwhile, America is replete with our very own "Madrassas." In the Deep South they are called "Christian Academies." Bible Colleges are scattered across the country, churning out tens of thousands of bigoted and radicalized fundamentalists annually.
We were taught to fear communism & socialism but Christian Nationalism wasn’t even on the radar. Genius.

Poor Blackberry. We hardly knew you. Our daughter rescued you from the roadside after you were hit by a car and knocked senseless. She brought you home and left you on a chair while doing an errand, and you were subsequently eaten by our rescue kitten-Galaxy.

I wasn't happy when my daughter rescued this kitten. One more mouth to feed, as our fourth rescue cat (and 2 dogs). But Galaxy has enriched my life.
