Wonderfully eclectic mix of signage era’s at #ClaphamJunction railway station today, starting with the #GillSans of post 1948/pre 1965 period, through #RailAlphabet, SWR’s resigning, to newest RA2. Will #GreatBritishRailways address this? Probably, eventually (but be nice to see some preserved)?

It was more complex in Greater Manchester: public transport was so catastrophically poor compared to Londons that it needed massive improvement before it could entice car drivers into it. That process is now underway. Once transit alternatives exist they will undoubtedly try again. :-)

It was a tad more complex for Greater Manchester: main reason was that the public transport system was so catastrophically poor compared to Londons that it needed massive improvement before it could entice car drivers into it. That process is now underway Joshiah but it’s a slow “burn” sadly!

Bravo Zurich. We need that in UK. Bigger/heavier (mostly Stupendously Unnecessary Vehicles) must be taxed off the roads. They’re too dangerous (deadly to pedestrians), our roads are too small for them, they use too much fuel. That original 1960s Mini could seat 4 people! Nothing bigger is needed!

On Sunday, #Zürich residents voted 52.8% in favor of increasing parking fees for cars according to weight.

The owner of a BMW X2 (Diesel), which weighs 1,675 kilograms, will now pay equivalent of €717 Euros per year to park on a public street. (Before, about €321.)
