Wife picked our daughter's name when she was born - Saila. I've held it in for 16 years until the first time she came home drunk this weekend and I got to sing what shall we do with a drunken sailor at her. Then she threw up on my wife's slippers. It was worth the wait.

To my family and close friends: look, I have trouble enough remembering my own birthday, you think I'm going to worry myself about yours? And don't think you're getting a Christmas card from me, either.
To my family and close friends: I didn't "forget your birthday" in the sense of not remembering what date your birthday is. I just didn't remember what the date is TODAY. It's not personal.

Exactly this. I'm waiting (hoping) for one of the candidates to say that Sunak's big mistake was not to signal a clean break from Boris and Truss, and then set out, in word and (as far as possible in opposition) deed, what that clean break will look like under them.
A funny thing about British politics at the moment are the large numbers of Conservative MPs who hated all or part of the 2019 to 2024 period but who are keen both a) to defend it and b) to recreate the choices that led to it.

As a Conservative who supports Crystal Palace, I'm trying to decide which has the greater potential to surprise on the up side this evening: Rishi on GB News or Palace on Sky Sports. My expectations of both are... not high.
