The president is about to start a war for no real reason. All of the things he has blamed on the country he’s targeting — fentanyl distribution, “emptying the asylums” and sending patients to the U.S., alignment with Tren de Aragua— are provably, obviously false.

It's also completely antithetical to the legal and MORAL obligation all mariners share, including and especially naval personnel, to rescue survivors at sea. Imperial Japan used to murder survivors of sunken ships. We don't do that.
Refusing to follow a “kill the survivors of the previous strike who are clearly hors de combat” order SHOULD BE significantly more clear-cut than refusing one due to “this entire operation is unlawful because citing inherent Article II authority is insufficient.”

Now only did White House pool reporters not stick up for their colleague who Trump repeatedly called “stupid” but you can hear them thanking Trump a few minutes later after he ended the Q&A. Sad stuff.
