26 April 2025, M13.

I went cluster hunting this weekend and got a few! The eastern skies have been quiet lately, but luckily a lot of globular clusters are visible.

The Pelican Nebula(IC5070 and IC5067) is an emission nebula resembling a pelican. This SHO multi-spectral narrow band image shows the dominate areas of ionized Sulfur(reds), Hydrogen(yellows) and Oxygen (blues) within the region. Photo taken a few hours before dawn.

So tonight is supposed to be clear but windy. I'm not sure I feel like setting up tonight for #astrophotography or not. We'll see how it goes after dinner. The AstropotamuPOD is really nice but 30 mph wind gusts still blows my 🔭 around.

M104 is a good target for capturing globular clusters around another galaxy. This is not one of my best galaxy images, but many of the faint dots in the halo are globular clusters. I captured this with a 5" refractor, time to revisit it! More info: bf-astro.com/m104/m104.htm #astrophotography

My latest capture of the Andromeda Galaxy , our closest galactic neighbor, 2.5M light-years away.
It holds ~1 trillion stars, most with planets.
Yet it's out of reach. #Earth remains rare, fragile, and the only home we know.

💫 🔭 A beautiful spiral galaxy dazzles in today’s picture from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.

This galaxy, Arp 184 or NGC 1961, gets its name from the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies. Its uneven shape earned it a spot in the catalogue.
