Friday night is back!

I’ve had some time to listen to music and try out some ideas for visualizations.

There’s a LOT of work to do to get this into a releasable form, but I can’t wait!

I finally had the opportunity to work on ray tracing with Metal 3 and want to share a little demo clip. 🪩

For now my ray tracing is not fast enough for
@neontrip.app on Vision Pro, but I have some optimization ideas to test out. 🔬👨‍💻

The trick is to keep the rotation separate and update it based on the drag. (We don’t want to rotate a transform that has already been rotated)

The Spatial framework is super handy for this!

I wanted ctrl-dragging on the rendered image to rotate the viewer just like in the visionOS simulator.

And unlike in the simulator I also wanted to be able to roll the image. (with a slider)

Question for app developers on Apple platforms:

When testing in-app purchases in the sandbox environment, is it normal that the “purchase successful” dialog is shown with a warning triangle?

I’ve had some difficulties finding adequate documentation about this…
