Look, I remember the Ms putting Randy Johnson in as a reliever in the single game playoff in 1995, and we all know how that worked out.

That's a wrap on the 2025 monsoon season. ~75% of New Mexico ended with near to above average rainfall! Some mountain ranges picked up >20" of rain! Northwest New Mexico missed out on most of the monsoon this year with <50% of their average rainfall.

A record number of Flash Flood Warning were issued in New Mexico during this year's monsoon season. 379 in total, beating the old record from 2022 by just 13 warnings. Lincoln County, where Ruidoso is, had the second highest on record. Props to the NWS offices in New Mexico!

Albuquerque had consistent and overall above average dew points almost all monsoon season. Despite that, we ended up 1.41" below average with 3.07" of rain this year. The 32nd driest monsoon on record of 134 years. It was also the 5th warmest.

Tomorrow will be the delivery of last major component of my home energy overhaul, the heat pump. MFers, this kind of project has been my dream for like 20 years, and I’d like to thank this shitty-ass, myopic administration for making it happen. I should never pay another gas or electric bill again.

I struggle with thoughts of afterlife. Tonight, in a venue I would love nothing more than to share with an old friend, I can’t, and I want to be okay with that. Jeff, bro, I miss you, and tho you will never know I said this, I say it anyway. I say it into the ether and hope I’m wrong.

A couple of years ago I bought a cassette player from someone on Craigslist and the guy offered to sell me a box of tapes, both commercially produced and someone’s mix tapes. I just put in a random mix tape and am now unexpectedly listening to the Star Wars soundtrack.

What does it say, exactly, that I bought a new gaming PC and ridiculously-sized monitor and I just want to see how three five-years-old games are going to perform? Bonus: can you guess which games?

I bought my home last winter. The previous owner showed me the part of the property where she kept her chickens and excitedly gesticulated how good they were are keeping weeds down.

I don’t have chickens and that area has been left largely untouched, and now I have plants that are feeding wildlife.
