This is great. I think the whole idea of accommodation should rightly be an invitation to reject an ableist, eugenicist approach to the world and instead ask "What if we want to give *everyone* the chance to do their best?"

The problem isn't rich kids getting around the restrictions so much as the restrictions existing in the first place.

But it seems like the issue in this case is that the accommodation is only available to the rich kids and, as usual, people without the means are the ones getting shafted by the means testing. The solution is to make sure everyone has the same opportunities as the kids you tutored.

This is why being "nuanced" about OpenAI and LLMs is useless. They are engaged in a propaganda campaign to muddy the waters and disinform people. They want you to think "oh, maybe in this special case, oh maybe under these circumstances".

Anybody who is like “Piracy is activism!”—trust me, supporting your local library is about 1000% more effective activism, and it’s still free for you and authors still get paid!

I also don't think it's moral (and should not be legal) to prevent a treatment for trans kids that cis kids have zero problems accessing when they're in need of it! We have a word for that concept! It's "discrimination" (and also "disparate impact") and it's a bad thing!

My wild controversial opinion is that we do, actually, owe it to strangers to take basic precautions and engage in actions that ensure the safety and well-being of others, to make the world accessible and non-hostile and easy to navigate.
