also, one great way to support immigrant communities fighting against trump is to go march alongside them, american flags in hand, showing the multicultural tolerance and solidarity that American liberal democracy requires and celebrates
we live in a society, that society has cultural and linguistic and ethnic subgroups, many of those subgroups are under attack by trump. some of them are responding to the attacks. we can either support them against persecution by defending them, or we can criticize them. we can't change them.

What the protesters should do is march to the center of LA and then do a synchronized reading of the Declaration of Independence, sing the national anthem, and finally do a full performance of the musical Hamilton, timed so that Trump's attack helicopters open fire in the climatic moment
Carrying nothing but American flags - no signs, no other flags, nothing - is an easy PR win. It looks like (correctly) that it's the US vs. its fascist leaders.
