I think some people have trouble seeing fascism as anything other than 1940s Germany.
But I think 'people going to a comic convention needing to have a plan in case the government's goons show up to disappear people' is a pretty good demonstration of what it can look like in 2025.

Interesting how he said "eradicated" instead of, for instance, "removed" or "deported." "Eradicate" is a word usually reserved discussions about disease or invasive insects, but I'm sure that, like Trump, he meant "eradicate" in a much friendlier and more benign way.

New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.

There are two fatal cases of H5N1 in cats in California. Both cats had been fed raw milk from the recalled lot in the ongoing outbreak associated with Raw Farms. The milk wasn’t tested. But an astute veterinarian tested the cats for flu based on clinical suspicion.
