I don't promote my writing very often (ironically because I'm usually busy writing in my spare time), but I'd like to feature my two novels today, THE SOCIETY OF EXPERIENCE and most recently RADIOLAND.

Both are mind-bendy urban literary fiction with generous doses of dark spec blended in.
My two novels laying on nicely art-directed industrial flooring.

Before this morning's peer supervision sesh, I was asked if it was ok if the other therapist could bring their dog, and folks it was a no-brainer.

Dmitri Shostakovich saw Jesus Christ Superstar! He also liked it so much he considered writing a rock music themed suite (like his earlier Jazz suites) but died soon after.

Cinematography by some guy named Nicholas Roeg sure helped. Just a stunning, awful, beautiful film.

The Masque of the Red Death (1964, dir. Roger Corman) gives us, among many other delights, one of Vincent Price's great performances. As the red death kills off entire villages, the wicked Prospero and his dreadful guests party. A genuine sense of malevolent evil pervades. Gorgeous, still shocking.
Title card for The Masque of the Red Death Juliana, a woman in a dark wine coloured dress, stands speaking in a deserted banquet hall. In front of her, a double sided axe swings like a pendulum Prince Prospero, dressed in a dark, hooded cloak with a gold headband, stands in front of Francesca, a red haired young woman in a dress, wearing a necklace and with a veil across her face. They are both looking ahead intently at something offscreen. Against a black backdrop illuminated only by a bright spot of red, stands a figure in a bright red hooded cloak and mask

I don't want to sound like a conspiracist, but part of me wonders if some of this is intentional, to drive some of their workforce to voluntarily resign. Not unlike corporate-owned apartment buildings that have constant construction to drive tenants out.

When this was first published, the Jane Goodall Foundation responded with a public denunciation. But Goodall herself hadn’t even seen the comic yet—and when she did, she thought it was hilarious.
A Far Side comic showing a female ape grooming her husband, captioned “Well, well—another blond hair. … Conducting a bit more ‘research’ with that Jane Goodall tramp?” The comic has been autographed in green by Jane Goodall.
