3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.

14.5 cm in diameter, this #Roman Iron flask was found at #Trimontium in the #ScottishBorders . It dates to AD140-180 & is a very rare example of a metal #flask from this period. This would have been issued to a soldier who was stationed at the fort over 1,800 years ago.
