Terrible story but great reporting by Laura Penington of the Denver Post:
- "A man died... after being hit by the driver of a van while riding his bike"
- "the driver struck him from behind"

And some extra context that you rarely ever see:
- "There are no bike lanes along that stretch of road"

Community health centers serving low-income Coloradans will face a reckoning if the government shutdown goes on too long.
The federal community health center fund, which pays about $111 million annually to Colorado clinics to cover care for uninsured people, lapsed at the end of September
Government shutdown leaves Colorado’s community health centers in financial limbo
A long shutdown could also jeopardize other programs supporting health centers, such as loan repayment for doctors working in underserved areas.

The case stems from a 2022 lawsuit in which state prisoners claimed the Colorado Department of Corrections’ approach to prison labor is coercive, illegal and ultimately amounts to involuntary servitude, which Colorado voters outlawed via Amendment A in 2018.
Are Colorado prison jobs involuntary servitude? Judge considers legal challenge to state’s system
At issue in the civil case is whether punishments for prisoners who refuse to work are so coercive that they actually force prisoners to work against their will.

"The court’s conservative majority didn’t seem convinced that states can restrict talk therapy aimed at changing feelings or behavior while allowing counseling that affirms kids identifying as gay or transgender."
In Colorado case, Supreme Court skeptical about bans on conversion therapy for LBGTQ+ kids
Colorado argues the measure simply regulates licensed therapists by barring a practice that’s been scientifically discredited and linked to serious harm.

Identifying public officials isn't "doxing." People have the right to know who is working for their government. Nor, for that matter, is it "radical left-wing terrorism." So it's frustrating to see platforms caving to these bad faith characterizations. www.technologyreview.com/2025/10/06/1...

A newsflash from the Domino Recording Company...
Robert’s European tour in support of 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘸𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 is off to a smashing start. If you’ve had a gander at the setlists from the first week of the tour, you can see that we're in for a real treat.
Now, that we have your attention, there are a couple of things to announce:
Firstly, on Friday, October 10th, the four vinyl albums from 𝘎 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘎𝘰-𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 will make their remastered appearance on the digital music platform of your choice, including the 𝘕𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘵𝘮𝘪𝘹 ’99 album and the remixed 𝘖𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘈𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵.
And then during the week of October 20th, we will begin taking pre-orders on the final pressing of 𝘎 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘎𝘰-𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘦 𝘖𝘯𝘦. (I think they call that burying the lede in journalism.) Thanks to everyone for their patience, but very happy to say the time has finally come.
We’ll post the link here once the order page is live. We have just got a few things to test on our backend, but these steps are in part to ensure that our continental European and Antipodean friends will have the most affordable price possible when it comes to taxes and shipping costs.

This is a declaration they will use federal resources to deploy violence against judges, prosecutors, and attorneys general. There's no other coherent interpretation of the phrasing, including "only remedy," "legitimate state power," and connecting those people with "terror networks."
Stephen Miller
@StephenM
The issue before is now is very simple and clear. There is a large and growing movement of leftwing terrorism in this country. It is well organized and funded. And it is shielded by far-left Democrat judges, prosecutors and attorneys general. The only remedy is to use legitimate state power to dismantle terrorism and terror networks.

WHY DID THEY GENTRIFY THE AUDACITY LOGO
the regular audacity logo on the left (a waveform between two headphones) and the REAL NEW audacity logo on the right (flat style red headphones, where one of the headphones is a half-circle to fit with the rest of musehub's design Thing.
