may be disappointed but this is a far better result for progressives than a minority govt as it’s the 1st time in 30 yrs the Coalition has experienced 2 decisive #ausvotes losses. It will forge an #auspol common sense about hard right politics being toxic to swing voters

Since the end of last season, I've been thinking about retirements, endings and how cricket mirrors life so much and have been putting it into words which the brilliant Cricket Described have published today.

Cricket’s Full Stop.
All things must end. The over. The spell. The session. The day. The match. The series. The rivalry. The career. Cricket is a series of small beginnings and endings, linking into a chain of greater …

Dutton is now just taking the piss when it comes to policy

His resurrection of the '80s long business lunch will cost at least $10 billion even on cautious estimates.

No wonder he didn't release costings.

Dutton's business lunch idea takes the piss out of the entire notion of worthwhile public policy
Peter Dutton's proposal to bring back the long, taxpayer-subsidised business lunch is his dumbest idea yet.

This is a photo of Trump and his supporters in Waco with their hands over their hearts while a pro-January 6 insurrection anthem plays.

The screen is playing footage of MAGA insurrectionists attacking the Capitol.

This is not normal. No matter who is in the White House.

Peter Dutton’s nuclear scheme will keep our energy grid in the dark, by promising to build the most expensive form of energy 20 years from now.

It’s not fair to consumers and it’s not a serious solution to keep the lights on and bring prices down this year, or this decade.

The economic insanity at the core of Peter Dutton’s nuclear plan is that it means higher electricity prices, less economic growth, and much more risk.

Do you know how much CEO pay has skyrocketed since 1978?

100%? 500%?

Try 1,085%

Meanwhile, the $7.25/hr fed. minimum wage hasn't budged in 15 years and the tipped min. wage has been $2.13/hr since 1991.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.
