Freedom of Movement is the block that politicians need to get themselves over.

The public is way ahead as per usual.
‘Mutual free movement’ for UK and EU citizens supported by 84% of Brits, in stunning new poll
Omnisis poll suggests opposition to free movement was based on lack of awareness and the UK government failing to enforce the rules

Woah this one has gone wild on X.
Brexit wasn’t an election.

It wasn’t even a referendum because the only referendum we had was advisory.

This was a government decision, and not even a parliamentary one.

So don’t let them compare it to elections. It’s really not.

The only betrayal of the British people is keeping Brexit.

This week saw the UK budget statement, and as ever the media were complicit in reporting something so simple on alcohol excise increases completely wrong. So let’s get the facts right bearing in mind Reeves knows she had just lost another £1BN in revenue with her increases on excise.

Morrisons this morning and I saw some good looking steak marked up as specials at a very competitive price. When I checked the label they were Australian.
Meat shipped from across the world to undercut the price of British farmers. All part of that post Brexit deal. What a joke.

Thread on solving the 90-in-180 day problem 🧵

The solutions to the 90-in-180 day problem are many and varied. Politicians really have **no** excuse for inaction.

Any of the following provide models for solutions or are solutions in themselves…

Many people now realise that leaving the European Union was a mistake, but the question now is, what do we do about it? The years of denial are over, we now need to work out how to fix the calamity that Brexit has caused, and restore our relationship with Europe.

New figures by the Bank of England demonstrate how much of a negative impact Brexit has had on the UK economy. Trade weakness combined with uncertainty has decreased our GDP, Investment, Employment, and Productivity, resulting in a negative decline for the UK compared to our European neighbours.

Starmer’s government should ask for 6 month per visit access to the Schengen zone.
A thread 🧵

So what do we mean by the 90-in-180-day problem?

1. We don’t mean the total number of days is necessarily the problem.

The problem is the control period of 180 days, the fact it has to be shared across 29 different countries and the fact it is not a per-visit allowance.
