I can’t tell from that video. However, I saw a video of an M109 on CNN just now and they looked like attached baskets. No open hatches were visible in the rear.

There’s a decent chance they’re looking for a protest to turn ugly, as it would be an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act. Voldemort is already using the I word.
